A black *Catholic* church, sPammynuts? Imagine that.
That's not difficult for me to imagine, because I live in a heavily
African-American area. Even little ol ex-Methodist me knows of the
Local Historically African-American Parish With Fab Gospel Music.
(I learned my love of church music in Sunday school.) I say
"historically" because it's a "mixed" neighborhood and, ya know,
non-black people go there too. I'm sure some of the other parishes
in Oakland are Historically Black (or Black These Days) but I pretty
much only know the northside.
I know you're just counting your blessings that pam isn't your
neighbor.
I know you got your name from a japanese fruit.
Rough period tonight yyyiiinnngggster?
of consternation from the other parishers when she comes lumbering
thru the door?
Can you imagine that everything in your life is fake false and fucked
up?
Not even for a second.
Of course, I know that they don't have the courage to
go into a black church.

neighbor.
I see from ammj that Pam claimed she was Catholic - anyone who knows
doodly squat about the RCC (which Pam doesn't, in her prejudice)
could tell she's fibbin' like crazy on that. (Major hint for the
secular, or at least those not familiar with the more-catholic end
of the spectrum: RCs don't EVER call their clergy "ministers".)
Even if she has been brought in to run the music, she has been
remarkably clue-resistant about the lingo. She didn't even use
"pastors", which is a term that could trip up the less-clued (being
real "insider" lingo).

I wouldn't particularly want to go to Pam's church, because she
makes it sound very unfriendly to the random visitor. The Logic
Enhanced will, of course, note that this is very different from "not
having the courage to go into a black church". I am chuckling a bit
at that in the light of Pam's whopper, as I suspect it truly applies
to her and the RCC.
